The Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu has announced a vacancy for a Medical Officer in Charge at the Aga Khan Medical Centre in Homa Bay. Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert clinical judgment while managing the overall operations of the medical centre. This includes staff supervision, patient care coordination, administrative oversight, and quality improvement initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide medical consultation and manage patient cases effectively

Perform diagnostic, therapeutic procedures, and minor surgical interventions

Monitor patient progress, conduct follow-ups, and initiate referrals

Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality and privacy standards

Coordinate daily operations to enhance patient experience

Supervise and mentor healthcare and support staff

Develop and enforce operational policies and procedures

Compile and submit performance and operational reports

Resolve patient concerns in a timely and professional manner

Champion continuous quality improvement and patient safety programs
Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) or equivalent
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related medical leadership role

Valid registration and practicing license from the MPDB

Certification in emergency care (ACLS, ATLS) is an added advantage
-
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
