UN Women has announced a vacancy for an Operations Analyst (P1) based in Nairobi. This position offers an opportunity to support impactful programmes while gaining hands-on experience in operations, finance, and project management within an international organization.
Role Purpose
The Operations Analyst will support programme implementation by providing operational, financial, and administrative services that ensure efficiency, compliance, and timely delivery of UN Women programmes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Implementation Support

Assist in preparing and updating workplans and budgets.

Maintain accurate programme data in UN Women management systems.

Support partner engagement processes, including agreement tracking and reporting.

Manage programme databases to ensure effective documentation and reporting.

Draft briefing materials and internal reports.
Financial Operations
-
Assist with budget development, monitoring, and revisions.
-
Track expenditures and ensure proper utilization of funds.

Prepare monthly financial analyses and reports.
-
Review transactions and process payments in line with UN Women regulations.

Support audit compliance through proper record-keeping and internal controls.
Administrative & Logistics Support

Provide operational support in procurement, HR, ICT, and contract management.

Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and consultant contract administration.

Coordinate logistics for events, meetings, and official missions.

Process travel requests and expense claims.
-
Act as leave monitor and maintain administrative records.
Knowledge Management

Share updates on UN Women policies and operational procedures.

Support learning initiatives for staff and partners.

Identify operational challenges and propose efficiency improvements.

Academic & Professional Requirements
Education

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field

Bachelor’s degree with additional relevant experience may be considered
Experience

Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience

Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud

Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and database tools

Experience supporting programme teams and events

Previous UN or international organization experience is desirable
