UNICEF Hiring Consultant for Knowledge Management and Partnerships Support in Nairobi (12 Months)

UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, works to promote the rights and wellbeing of every child worldwide. As part of its ongoing partnership expansion in Africa, UNICEF’s ESARO office is seeking a qualified professional for a 12-month consultancy focused on support coordination, knowledge management, and research.

Role Overview

The selected consultant will work closely with the Partnerships Specialist (Public-Private Partnerships section) and other regional teams to improve coordination and strengthen UNICEF’s relationships with major foundation partners.

You’ll help drive collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing between UNICEF and key stakeholders across Africa.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing relationships with foundation partners, ensuring alignment and accountability across regional initiatives.

  • Help identify new partnership opportunities that reflect UNICEF’s mission and foundations’ regional focus areas.

  • Facilitate cross-office communication and strengthen collaboration between teams in Eastern, Western, and Northern Africa.

  • Maintain comprehensive databases and knowledge management systems for current and prospective partners.

  • Provide strategic insights and research to inform UNICEF’s engagement in regional and continental forums.

  • Offer capacity-building support to country offices for better partnership management and reporting.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Development Studies, International Business, or Social Sciences.

  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in donor management, proposal writing, or research for NGOs or international organizations.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills.

  • Experience in partnership engagement with foundations or development agencies is an added advantage.
