UNICEF has announced a unique consultancy opportunity for seasoned experts in digital analysis and social behavior change. Through its innovative “I Hear U” Social and Community Listening platform, UNICEF works to better understand community needs, monitor real-time sentiment, and support evidence-based decision making. To deepen the effectiveness of the platform, the organization is looking for a consultant who can drive technical support, capacity building, and continuous system improvement.
The consultant will support global, regional, and country-level UNICEF teams by helping them subscribe to the platform, onboarding new users, and resolving application or implementation challenges. This role is essential in ensuring that the data collected through I Hear U is properly used to inform programming and community engagement strategies.
Another major responsibility is to ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of analytics, including reports and dashboards that highlight misinformation trends, public sentiment, and digital community feedback. The consultant will help transform these insights into practical recommendations that teams can use in their communication and program responses.
Capacity strengthening is another core focus of the assignment. The consultant will develop practical training resources, lead virtual learning sessions, and provide follow-up support to help strengthen internal understanding of SCL methods. This ensures that teams can independently interpret and use digital insights in their day-to-day program planning.
UNICEF also expects the consultant to help refine the platform by gathering user feedback, documenting operational needs, and working with technical developers to ensure enhancements meet actual field realities. Additionally, the consultant will help highlight success stories and create knowledge-sharing materials demonstrating real-world impact.
Applicants must have a Master’s degree in relevant fields like communication, sociology, media studies, psychology, anthropology, public health, international development, or any social sciences discipline. Candidates should bring a minimum of five years of SBC or digital insight experience, including at least three years working directly with social listening systems in development or humanitarian contexts.
Experience handling misinformation, conducting digital sentiment analysis, and using tools such as Sprinklr, Talkwalker, Meltwater, or Brandwatch is essential.
