Do you want to use your financial expertise to make a difference in one of Nairobi’s most vibrant communities? The Mukuru Slums Development Project (MSDP) is seeking a Finance Officer to join its finance team and help ensure accountability in donor-funded projects.

Financial stewardship is at the heart of sustainable development. As Finance Officer, you will safeguard resources, prepare accurate reports, and guide program teams in managing budgets responsibly — ensuring every shilling goes where it’s needed most.

Your Key Duties Will Include:

  • Preparing accurate financial reports for both internal use and donors.

  • Managing budgets, bank accounts, and reconciliations.

  • Supporting program staff with financial forecasting.

  • Reviewing expenditure requests to ensure compliance.

  • Maintaining an updated asset register.

  • Coordinating audits and preparing necessary documents.

  • Enhancing internal control systems.

What You Need to Qualify

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or Accounting.

  • CPA (K) or ACCA finalist.

  • At least 3 years of experience in finance management within NGOs or donor-funded projects.

  • Strong IT skills with QuickBooks/SAGE proficiency.

  • Excellent communication, integrity, and problem-solving skills.
