Do you have a passion for special education and community impact? Peace Corps Kenya is looking for dedicated professionals to join as Educators for the Deaf (E4D).

This role is part of a broader initiative to enhance educational opportunities for Deaf students, promote inclusion, and strengthen community involvement. Volunteers will collaborate with teachers, families, and local institutions to create sustainable change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Deaf students, focusing on Kenyan Sign Language, literacy, and numeracy.

  • Train and mentor teachers through structured professional communities.

  • Engage parents and caregivers in supporting Deaf learners.

  • Develop and adapt accessible learning resources.

  • Build students’ confidence to protect themselves from social and health risks.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree in Special Education, Education, or related field.

  • OR degree in any discipline plus special education certification.

  • OR a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience working with persons with disabilities.
