Britam is recruiting a Counter Fraud Officer to join its team in Nairobi. This role is ideal for an investigator who thrives on uncovering the truth, analyzing patterns, and strengthening fraud prevention systems.


Your Role

As a Counter Fraud Officer, you will conduct professional investigations into suspected fraud within the company. You’ll evaluate evidence, identify risks, and prepare forensic reports that support internal decision-making and possible legal actions.

The position also involves recommending policy improvements to help reduce fraud exposure and enhance the company’s internal control framework.


Main Duties

  • Investigate fraud cases reported through whistleblowing channels, customer complaints, or internal audits.

  • Collect, document, and analyze evidence in accordance with investigative best practices.

  • Liaise with external authorities such as the IRA and police for prosecution when needed.

  • Conduct fraud trend analysis and recommend preventive measures.

  • Maintain a fraud case management database for tracking and reporting.

  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and mitigate risks before they escalate.


What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in fraud, criminal, or administrative investigations.

  • Strong research and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Excellent written communication and report-writing abilities.

  • Working knowledge of digital research tools and data sources.
