Equity Bank Kenya has announced an opening for a Senior Manager, Senior Security Domain Architect, offering a strategic opportunity for cybersecurity leaders to shape enterprise security across one of East Africa’s leading financial institutions.

Role Overview

This position is responsible for defining, implementing, and governing security architecture across network, application, infrastructure, data, and cloud environments. The role works closely with business leaders, auditors, engineers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure a strong and compliant security posture.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce enterprise information security architecture standards

  • Advise on secure design and implementation of new and existing systems

  • Provide expert leadership in cloud, IoT, blockchain, IAM, and network security

  • Support security risk assessments, audits, and regulatory compliance efforts

  • Lead incident response, digital investigations, and threat mitigation initiatives

  • Enhance reporting and metrics to demonstrate cybersecurity value

  • Guide implementation of advanced cybersecurity and emerging technology controls

  • Support secure Active Directory design, access controls, and monitoring systems

  • Collaborate with IT, risk, audit, and business stakeholders

  • Contribute to strategic security roadmaps and lifecycle planning

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related discipline

  • 10+ years of cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years in security architecture

  • Deep technical expertise in network and infrastructure security

  • Strong knowledge of cloud security (Microsoft Azure), virtualization, and encryption

  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, SIEM, EDR, IAM, and endpoint security

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCISO, CISA, GIAC, TOGAF, or SABSA

  • Proven ability to engage senior leadership and manage high-risk environments
