The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of Mastercard’s public policy strategy, ensuring constructive engagement with governments, regulators, and industry stakeholders. A key objective is to advocate for policies that enable digital payments, foster innovation, and create a stable regulatory environment for the payments industry.

Working closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership, you will monitor regulatory developments, assess potential risks and opportunities, and recommend strategic responses. You will also coordinate industry collaboration on shared policy issues and represent Mastercard in forums, associations, and policy discussions.

This role demands strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to operate effectively under pressure and tight deadlines. You will be expected to manage external advisors, maintain productive relationships across business units, and contribute to a positive cycle of engagement through strategic communications and government-led initiatives.

Candidates should have a strong track record in public policy, government relations, or regulatory affairs within a multinational organization, government institution, or consultancy. Experience in technology or financial services is a plus, but not mandatory. Willingness to travel within Africa and internationally is required.
