Co-operative Bank of Kenya has announced a new opportunity for a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, a key role within its data and analytics ecosystem. The bank is seeking a tech-savvy, detail-oriented professional who can transform data into actionable insights that support better decision-making across the organization.

The BI Developer will be responsible for building high-quality dashboards, analytical reports, and data solutions that help streamline operations and support strategic planning. This includes analyzing business requirements, designing data structures, and applying statistical techniques to interpret patterns in large datasets.

Daily responsibilities include cleaning and validating data, creating automated reporting processes, and identifying areas for performance improvement through analytics. The role also involves developing BI applications based on user specifications, providing testing environments for UAT, and ensuring all systems comply with security and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate should have an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts in simple language. They should also continuously look for ways to optimize existing tools, streamline processes, and introduce better reporting methodologies.

To be eligible for the position, applicants must have a BSc in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least three years of experience in software development and data analysis, and strong technical expertise in areas such as:

  • Data warehouse design and dimensional modeling

  • ETL tools: Oracle ODI, SSIS, Talend

  • Query languages: SQL, PL/SQL

  • Visualization tools: Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, Oracle Analytics Server

  • Programming languages: Python, Java, C#

  • Databases: Oracle, SQL Server
