Role Overview:
As an Innovations & CVC Specialist, you will work closely with the Group Director of Strategic Partnerships and investment consultants to manage deal flow, perform financial and commercial analysis, and engage with Africa’s vibrant startup ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing & Screening: Identify and evaluate startups in focus sectors, conduct founder calls, and maintain deal pipelines.

Research & Investment Thesis: Conduct market research, trend analysis, and assist in shaping investment theses.

Financial & Commercial Analysis: Build models, assess scalability, and analyze competitive positioning.

Investment Process Support: Draft investment memos, prepare IC materials, and coordinate diligence efforts.

Operational & Internal Support: Codify best practices, manage reporting, and support fund management operations.

Value Creation: Facilitate strategic partnerships, mentor portfolio founders, and leverage Britam’s corporate network.

Ecosystem Engagement: Build relationships with founders, co-investors, accelerators, and represent Britam at key events.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.

3-5 years of relevant experience in venture capital, investment banking, corporate development, consulting, or high-growth startups.

Analytical mindset, strong communication skills, and familiarity with financial modeling and CRM/research tools.

Exposure to VC/PE deal flow or startup fundraising is a plus.

Postgraduate qualifications (MBA, CFA) are advantageous.
