Career Opportunity: Senior Technical Office Architect Needed at Tatu City

Tatu City, one of Kenya’s most exciting mixed-use developments, is searching for a highly skilled Senior Technical Office Architect to strengthen its Technical Office team. This senior-level role is vital in ensuring design consistency, technical precision, and smooth coordination across all architectural works during project execution.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. Expert Review of Architectural Submittals

In this role, you will oversee detailed evaluations of contractor shop drawings. This includes:

  • Façade and curtain wall systems

  • Roofing and waterproofing packages

  • High-end interior fit-out and joinery

  • Material submittals, samples, and mock-ups

You will ensure each submission aligns with design intent, technical specifications, and required performance standards.

2. Leading Technical Coordination

The Senior Architect will guide coordination efforts between architectural, structural, and MEP teams. Tasks include:

  • Managing the RFI process for all architectural queries.

  • Interpreting and clarifying design requirements for contractors.

  • Reviewing method statements and quality plans for compliance.

  • Ensuring architectural design integrity is upheld during construction.

3. Documentation & Project Support

A key part of the job is maintaining precise, up-to-date records:

  • All architectural drawings and revisions

  • Submittal logs and specifications

  • RFI responses and coordination documents

You will also help ensure the accurate delivery of as-built documents at project completion.


Qualifications and Experience

Hard Skills

  • Degree in Architecture (Bachelor’s or Master’s).

  • 10–15 years of experience focused on technical architectural delivery.

  • Registration with a professional body such as RIBA or AIA is an added advantage.

  • Strong background in large-scale, high-rise, or mixed-use development projects.

  • Deep familiarity with façade engineering, waterproofing systems, and advanced interior finishes.

  • High-level proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Strong understanding of global building codes and performance standards.
