Role Purpose
The Counselling Psychology TVET Trainer will be responsible for both classroom instruction and hands-on practical training. The trainer will guide students through assessments, prepare them for national examinations, and support them during industrial attachments.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

Teach assigned counselling psychology units according to TVET and curriculum standards.

Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching materials.

Conduct and assess practical sessions to ensure skill mastery.

Set and mark internal exams, ensuring proper validation.
-
Conduct continuous assessments and keep updated academic records.
-
Oversee student progress during industrial attachments.

Enter student grades into the institutional ERP system.
-
Prepare students adequately for external exams (KNEC/CDACC).

Maintain compliance with exam schedules and academic procedures.

Mentor students, invigilate examinations, and track attendance.

Attend all required class sessions and participate in academic duties.
Required Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must have:

A Diploma or Degree in Counselling Psychology or a related technical discipline.

Capability to teach both common and core units.

A Certificate in Pedagogy or formal registration with TVETA as a trainer.

Understanding of KNEC/CDACC exam procedures.
-
At least 2 years of teaching experience in a related field.
