⚓ About the Role
Kenya Maritime Authority is seeking a Senior Planning Officer to support its mission of promoting safe, secure, and efficient maritime operations. This position plays a central role in strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, and policy formulation to ensure the Authority meets its performance targets and national maritime objectives.
📋 Key Duties & Responsibilities

Formulate, review, and implement the Authority’s strategic and operational plans.

Lead performance monitoring and prepare evaluation reports on projects and programs.

Coordinate the development of policies and frameworks that enhance institutional efficiency.

Support resource mobilization by preparing project proposals and donor databases.

Produce research-based policy recommendations and position papers.

Align KMA’s strategies with national, regional, and county-level priorities.

Facilitate preparation of departmental work plans and performance reports.

Support budgeting and stakeholder collaboration efforts.
🎓 Requirements & Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Development Studies, or related field.

At least 3 years’ experience as a Planning Officer.

Completion of a supervisory course from a recognized institution.

Strong background in proposal writing and strategic planning.
-
Excellent report-writing, communication, and leadership skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage projects and coordinate teams effectively.
