The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has announced a high-level opening for the Director, ICAO Mission, to be stationed in Montreal, Canada — the global headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
This position is central to Kenya’s representation in international aviation governance. The Director will liaise closely with ICAO member states, the Kenya High Commission in Ottawa, and the Ministry of Roads and Transport to promote Kenya’s aviation policies and secure its interests in global decision-making forums.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will:

Serve as Kenya’s key representative at ICAO.

Provide leadership in the development and adoption of ICAO standards.

Facilitate Kenya’s contribution to aviation safety, air navigation, and environmental protection.

Coordinate the domestication of ICAO conventions and protocols.

Guide the preparation of technical papers and reports for international meetings.

Drive advocacy for Kenya’s participation in ICAO technical panels and committees.
What You’ll Need:
To qualify, applicants must have:

15 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in management.

A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Law, Economics, or related areas.

Professional certification in aviation disciplines such as piloting or air traffic control.

Leadership training and proven computer proficiency.

Deep knowledge of global and national aviation frameworks, including Civil Aviation Act, CAP 394.
