About the Role

As a Senior Applied Scientist, you’ll work on machine learning systems, reinforcement learning models, and large language models (LLMs) — applying state-of-the-art AI research to solve real-world challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Research & Development: Build scalable ML pipelines and validate metrics for innovative AI solutions.

  • Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver impactful features for millions of users.

  • Thought Leadership: Mentor junior staff, promote best practices, and contribute to the broader Microsoft AI community.

  • Customer Engagement: Translate data insights and feedback into measurable product improvements.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Electrical Engineering — plus 1–4 years of professional experience in predictive analytics, statistical modeling, or applied research.
An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) is highly preferred.

Strong candidates will demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in machine learning, data mining, or predictive analytics.

  • Solid communication and problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirements

This role requires passing the Microsoft Cloud background check on hire and every two years thereafter.
