The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) is recruiting a Market Risk & Compliance Associate to join its compliance and risk division in Nairobi. Job Purpose
As part of the NSE compliance team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that listed companies and trading participants adhere to Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and NSE regulations. You will review reports, evaluate listing applications, monitor participant risk, and contribute to a fair and transparent financial market.
Main Duties

Analyze quarterly and annual financial reports of listed companies.

Validate listing applications and ensure regulatory compliance.

Conduct compliance reviews, risk analysis, and market surveillance.

Track capital adequacy and financial health of trading participants.

Support the NSE in maintaining an investor complaint register and resolution process.

Assist in developing compliance frameworks, risk models, and training materials.

Provide technical insights for market resilience and fraud prevention.
Academic and Professional Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field.

At least two years of professional experience in financial risk or compliance.

Certifications such as CPA, CFA, CISI, or FA are highly desirable.

Membership with recognized professional bodies such as ICPAK or LSK preferred.
Technical Skills

Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and Power BI.

Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities.

Understanding of automated trading systems and risk modeling.

Excellent reporting and documentation skills.
