Job Purpose
The Legal Counsel will ensure that Watu Credit’s litigation, compliance, and dispute resolution processes are properly managed. This role also involves giving expert advice on legal risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting business operations with sound legal insights.
Key Duties

Oversee all ongoing litigation and maintain an updated litigation database.

Draft legal instruments, defense statements, and settlement agreements.

Advise on case strategies with a focus on cost management.

Support field teams in court prosecutions and settlement processes.

Ensure compliance with Kenya’s legal and regulatory framework.

Communicate and coordinate with external counsel and service providers.
Candidate Requirements

LLB degree from a recognized institution.

At least 3 years’ experience in legal practice.

Strong understanding of litigation, compliance, and risk management.

Excellent research, drafting, and advisory skills.
